Another week, and hope still springs eternal...

Victory 1 Roar 1
I'd like to believe the Brisbane boys can trump the Vics on their home turf, but I just don't see it happening. Farina says he has a plan for this game; but Blieberg said that same thing in the corresponding game last year and look what happened there! Not only do the Roar have to manufacture a goal from somewhere, they have to stop up a defence that has been leaking goals. They only seem to go missing once or twice in a game, but in a tight competition, that's often enough for the opposition to take full advantage. Big Sasa is back, which should help there, but I see yet another draw coming out of this one.

Sydney 2 Jets 2
Juninho v Jardel in the F3 derby! Sydney will have some confidence from last week's result, while the Jets will be disappointed they didn't put the Victory away. I'm a bit wary about both these teams and think they'll pretty much cancel each other out.

Phoenix 2 Glory 0
How the mighty have fallen... The poor old boys from the West have scored only once this year, and the long flight(s) to Wellington will take their toll. Can't see them troubling the scorers in this one, while the Phoenix showed a lot of character to come back against Adelaide.

Adelaide 1 Mariners 0
I'm going for a bit of a "left field" result here. The Mariners aren't invincible, and Adelaide have been scoring goals of late (even if they've been leaking them as well). I suspect the Reds will be happy to be back home again, and will use that to their advantage.

We will leak our first goal to Burns, but he's not taking the ball home this time...:

Victory 2 Roar 1

Sydney 1 Jets 1

Phoenix 3 Glory 1

Adelaide 1 Mariners 2

Here we go:

MV 1-2 QR
SFC 2-1 NUJ
AU 2-0 CCM
WP 3-2 PG

I reckon the goals will start to flow a bit from now on. There's been lots of talk about how boring the league has been, and I think the message will have filtered down to the coaches and players.

Got Jacob's and Eamonn's tips:

Jacob:
Melbourne vs Queensland
The Roar 0:1

Sydney vs Newcastle
Jets 0:2

Adelaide vs Central Coast
Mariners 1:3

Wellington vs Perth
Phoenix 2:1

Eamonn:
Melbourne vs Queensland
Victory 2:1

Sydney vs Newcastle
Sydney 2:1

Adelaide vs Central Coast
Adelaide 2:1

Wellington vs Perth
Draw 2:2

Eamonn: "That should lift me a couple of places... Mike is a legend... 'tis true... but it's not over till the fat lady sings, and it's a long or short season, and all credit to him. I'm as sick as at been knocked off, but working hard in training, and focusing on the next round, looking for the positives, and looking to produce a good performance this week, and the mood in tipping training has been amazing enuff!"

Melbourne - Queensland : 3-0
Here's hoping Melbourne will take the positive vibes from last week's second half comeback and finally start winning. I don't see Queensland as strong opposition really. Then again, nor did I think Newcastle were going to be!

Sydney - Newcastle : 1-0
Like I said, not so convinced about Newcastle. Last week was their best performance so far, but they really showed they are still not up to scratch in that second half.

Adelaide - CCM: 1-0
Adelaide has the striking power to get past Vukovic and a solid CCM defence. I think this will be theirs, but only narrowly.

Wellington-Perth 3:1
Wellington has such a great crowd behind them and such a strong attacking mindset that I can really see them punishing a very poorly performing Perth. They do falter at the back though, so I can certainly see Perth pinching a goal at some point.

Welcome to the Blogger's Cup Peter. I've given you three administrative points to kick off (lowest score minus 1), but with the start you're having you should be overtaking a few of us almost immediately.

One trend so far is that the Roar followers are doing terribly. Oh well.
