Hoping for a better round (and better tipping) this weekend...

Sydney 1 Wellington 0
The NZ boys are looking decidedly shaky on the road, so if Sydney are going to break their duck for a win, this is the game to do it. Brosque is back, which gives the Sydneysiders at least a sniff of a goal, and that might be enough.

Newcastle 1 Adelaide 2
The Jets were lucky to get away with the game in Wellington last week, and at least on paper, Adelaide should have too much in attack. The wild card will be the reshuffled Adelaide formation after Valkanis's injury and the possible absence of Nathan Burns, who's out of the Olyroos game with an injury.

Melbourne 1 Central Coast 1
Not expecting a repeat of the six-goal thriller from last year, but should still be an entertaining game. The big plus for Melbourne will be the return of Archie Thompson, who looked dangerous for the Socceroos against the Argies. The Coast boys can't seem to stop scoring at the moment and will have plenty of confidence. That should be enough for both teams to find the back of the net.

Perth 0 Qld 1
The Glory haven't looked seriously like scoring for 3 weeks now, and I don't see a magic bullet to solve that anytime soon. The Roar of course had their own problems against the Coast, but were desperately unlucky to have a goal scored against them and were on target in earlier games. It may be blind faith, but I think the boys in orange can conjure up enough to score at least once, and that should be enough to take this one out.

The Matt Carroll curse - build a league where everyone is so close that half the coaches are under threat..

Syd 4 v Welling 1
Newc 1 v Adel 3
Victory 0 v CCM 4
Perth 0 v Roar 4

In my view, this week it is the weak v the strong. The teams that have grown since last year and those that haven't.

Jacob told me his tips before school this morning. They are:

Sydney vs Wellington:
Sydney 2:1

Newcastle vs Adelaide:
Jets 2:1

Melbourne vs Central Coast:
CCM 0:2

Perth vs Queensland:
Queensland 1:3

They're about the same as mine except he clearly thinks there'll be some more goal scoring. Can only hope he's right.

I'm fired up about Muscat, the bully-boy of the A-League.

His and Craig Moore's attack on Burns has appalled me.

Tips;

SFC 2 v WP 1
NJ 2 v AU 2
MV 1 v CCM 0
PG 1 v QR 1
